About the Author

Antoine Del Busso began his publishing career with Pierre Tisseyre in 1972. Five years later, he replaced Denis Vaugeois at the helm of Éditions Boréal, one of the most dynamic publishing companies in Quebec, which he would lead until 1989.

Following a brief stint with Groupe Sogides (Éditions de l’Homme and Éditions du Jour), he was appointed Executive Director of Éditions Fides, a position he would hold for over fifteen years. From 1998 to 2015, he also headed up the Presses de l’Université de Montréal.

During this period, he founded Del Busso Éditeurs in 2009, a company devoted to publishing his personal favourites. In 2009 and 2010 he also taught courses on publishing in the Department of French Language and Literature at McGill University.

He has served as president of several associations, including the Association nationale des éditeurs (ANEL), Québec Édition, and the Commission du livre. He has also sat on a number of boards of directors, including those of SODEC, the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec and Copibec (of which he was co-founder as president of ANEL).

In recognition of his contribution to Quebec culture and to the publishing world he was awarded the Ordre des francophones d’Amérique in 2004 and the Fleury-Mesplet Prize in 2008.
