Emiro Aristizábal is the Executive Director of the Colombian Book Chamber. An economist from the University of Antioquia with postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics, Emiro was a member and president of the Book Chamber’s board for several terms before taking on the executive director role. His career managing public and private companies, and his extensive knowledge of the publishing sector have been fundamental to his role at the Book Chamber, which manages the Bogotá International Book Fair among numerous other national initiatives aimed at modernizing Colombia’s book sector, developing public policies to promote books and reading, supporting the national publishing industry, and protecting the interests of all actors in Colombia’s book chain.

Emiro Aristizibal

Director of the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo), Adriana Ángel Forero is a social communicator and public relations specialist with over a decade working in the Colombian publishing industry. In 2016 she joined the Colombian Book Chamber as communications director, strengthening the organization’s internal and external communications, becoming the Fair director in November 2022 and organizing the highly successful 2023 edition with Mexico as guest of honour country.

Adriana Angel

Mónica Montes Ferrando is a professional in literary studies and journalism with a master’s degree in Publishing from the Universidad Alcalá de Henares (Spain). Winner of the Carolina Foundation scholarship for the development of young Latin American publishers and the Cervantes scholarship from the University of Alcalá de Henares, she has worked for several Colombian and Spanish publishers and is the creator and editorial director of Mo Ediciones, a Colombian independent publishing house founded in 2014. Mónica is a founding member and president-secretary of the recently created Colombian Chamber of Independent Publishing.

Ana María Aragón of the Asociación Colombiana de Librerías Independientes [Colombian Association of Independent Booksellers] is educated as a Social Communicator at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, later studied Literature at the Universidad Javeriana, and has taken several courses on professional publishing. She was the editorial coordinator and founding member of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University magazine, Agenda Cultural, has worked in various publishing houses, and participated in several events organised by the Cámara Colombiana del Libro. Since the year 2000 she has been working as Multimedia and Publishing Coordinator for Pontificia Universidad Javeriana’s Social Communication degree. She has also held the position of Director of the Association of Colombian Cultural Magazines (ARCCA) since 1996 and General Manager of the cultural project Librería Casa Tomada since 2008.
